Shreveport Fire Department Battle Early-Morning House Fire
Early Thursday morning Shreveport Firefighters were called about a house fire on East Egan Street.
The fire was quickly called-in thanks to a neighbor calling Caddo 911 after seeing the smoke. The first unit arrived on scene in less than 3 minutes and could see smoke coming from the roof of the home. Firefighters quickly made a plan of offensive attack to put the blaze out.
8 Firefighters worked fast and were able to get the fire under control within minutes using quick-thinking and teamwork. The rapid response made it so the fire couldn't spread to other nearby houses.
From SFD:
"The residence appeared to be vacant at the time of the incident. No injuries to either
citizens or firefighters were reported. The cause of the fire remains under active
investigation by the Shreveport Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Office.
The Shreveport Fire Department continues to urge all residents to report suspicious activity or unusual behavior to the proper authorities. Community awareness and engagement are critical to ensuring public safety."
