New Brookshires in South Shreveport Opens for Business

The wait is over for south Shreveport residents looking for another option for groceries. The new Brookshire's is now open at Norris Ferry and the Southern Loop.

The Texas based retailer held a soft opening on Wednesday and the grand opening happens Thursday. This is a massive grocery store with 56,000 square feet.

A very similar store opened in Bossier City last year. It is a full service operation with a fueling center, sushi, fresh seafood, a pharmacy with a drive-through, a floral department. This store also has a Pizza Hut inside along with a CC's Coffee Bar.

There will also be commercial space for other businesses at the complex. Construction at this new store has been going on for several months.

The staff of the store has been completed, but they will always be looking for additional staff members. This store will have at least 200 employees.

Brookshire's has also hired employees dedicated to personal shopping for those who want to shop online and pick up their groceries at a specified time. You can click here to see the jobs and apply online.

This new store will be in direct competition with the Kroger Marketplace store at Ellerbe and Flournoy Lucas which opened in late 2016.
