Brookshire’s Hiring for New Shreveport Store – Check Out Progress
Progress has been steady at the construction site for the planned Brookshire's grocery store in southeast Shreveport.
In just a couple of months, southeast Shreveport residents will have another big player in the grocery arena. Crews are putting the finishing touches on the new Brookshire's at the intersection of Norris Ferry Road and Southern Loop.
The company has not released an official opening date yet, but KEEL News has been told the goal is to swing the doors open by the end of February or early March.
This will be a high end Brookshire’s with a 56,000 square-foot store which will include retail sales of beer and wine, a fuel station and a drive-thru pharmacy window. There will also be commercial space for other businesses at the complex.
How Many Workers Will Be Hired for New Brookshire's?
A sign has been posted on the property looking for workers which indicates the store is likely within 6 weeks of opening. At least 200 workers are expected to be hired to work at this new Brookshire's. This new grocery store will bring in at least 200 jobs for the area.
Brookshire's will also hire staffers dedicated to personal shopping for those who want to shop online and pick up their groceries at a specified time. You can click here to see the jobs and apply online.
It will be very similar to the store on Line Avenue commonly referred to as "Gucci Brookshire's" which is 55,000 square feet.
This new facility will include a full service grocery store with a pharmacy and gas station.
This new store will be in direct competition with the Kroger Marketplace store at Ellerbe and Flournoy Lucas which opened in late 2016.
