Shreveport Woman Arrested for Assault After Biting Incident

The Shreveport Police Department (SPD) successfully intervened in an assault and battery incident early yesterday morning.

At approximately 12:44 a.m. on June 9th, SPD officers responded to a distress call in the 400 block of Abilene Street. Upon arrival, officers encountered a victim who had sustained bite marks on their arm. The suspect, identified as 49-year-old Tiffany Word, was promptly apprehended.

Word has been charged with one count of 2nd degree battery following the alleged attack. The victim received immediate medical attention from the Shreveport Fire Department for the toothy attack and is expected to make a full recovery.

Suspects are innocent until proven guilty
