SHREVEPORT, LA.   Man Arrested After Attempting to Run Over Female with Vehicle

Officers from the Shreveport Police Department have arrested 27-year-old JaMarcus Bates on one count of aggravated criminal damage to property following an incident on June 19, 2024.

The arrest stems from a call reporting that Bates allegedly attempted to run over a female in a parking lot in the 1900 block of North Hearne Avenue. Bates is accused of ramming his vehicle into another vehicle, causing significant damage, and injuring a female occupant.

The injured female was transported to a local hospital where she is receiving treatment for her injuries.

Bates has been taken into custody and the investigation is ongoing. Suspects are innocent until proven guilty
