Shreveport Fire Department Battle Another Vacant House Fire
Yesterday Afternoon, Caddo 911 got a call about a fire at a house on Darien Street.
The caller was the owner of the home, and reported it was completely engulfed in smoke and flames. The owner told investigators that they believed the home was vacant.
Shreveport Fire crews arrived on the scene 2 minutes after the call was made and saw heavy smoke and flames coming out of the house. SFD quickly started a plan to suppress the fire including offensive and defensive tactics.
27 Firefighters worked hard to bring the blaze under control. The structure of the house began to rapidly deteriorate, so the Battalion Chief shifted to a full defensive attack to make sure all the Firefighter on scene were safe.
From SFD:
"The fire was successfully contained without any reported injuries to fire personnel or
civilians. The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
The Shreveport Fire Department reminds the public that any suspicious activity or
information regarding this or similar incidents should be reported immediately to local
authorities."
