Shreveport Woman Arrested for Assault With a Broomstick

Well, this one is different. Friday evenings are usually a time to begin your wind-down time for the weekend, but this lady supposedly decided to turn UP!

On Friday August 11th, 2023, Shreveport Police officers were called to a residence in the 9200 block of Walker Road on reports of an assault and battery. Patrol officers arrived and located a female victim who reportedly was attacked by her sister. Officers were also able to identify the suspected aggressor in the incident and take her into custody. The victim declined medical attention.

Officers determined that the two women were arguing when Carl Hurt (8-26-57) struck the victim multiple times with a broomstick. Hurt was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated battery.

We are required to state that suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
