Runoffs Forced in Some Races

For most candidates in Saturday's election, it's all over. But, for others, a new campaign started today. The District 39 State Senate race will see a November 19th runoff between incumbent Lydia Jackson and her predecessor in the seat, Greg Tarver. In State House races, incumbent Barbara Norton will face challenger Lynn Cawthorne in a November runoff for the District-3 seat and the District-10 race will see a runoff between Gene Reynolds and Jerri Ray de Pingre'. Three Bossier Parish Police Jury seats are yet to be decided -- Coach Bob Brotherton and Larry Small are in a runoff for the District-1 seat, incumbent Wanda Bennett and Lucy Cooper are in a runoff for District-3, and Jerry Carter and Sonny Cook head for a runoff in District-4. Attorneys Sheva Sims and Shante' Wells find themselves in a runoff for an open seat on the Shreveport City Court bench.
