North Shreveport Getting 3 New Restaurants in 1 Location

There's been exciting growth in North Shreveport over the past few years, not the least of which is the new Amazon fulfillment center at North Market and North Hearne.  At last report, Amazon is still moving forward with the facility with a projected mid 2024 opening date.

Love's Truck Stop Plaza is about 3/4 complete and could be open for business at the end of August. Ivy Lumber is also being built in the area. A donut shop and a liquor store are also on the way.

But Blanchard is now getting good news for foodies.  Silverstar Smokehouse Express in north Shreveport has been closed for 'remodeling', but recently posted on their Facebook page they are about to reopen with a very interesting concept.

Starting this Wednesday, June 7th, when you go into the Silverstar location on North Market, you'll be able to select from the Silverstar menu, or the Monjuni's menu. Then you can finish your meal with dessert from Buttercups Cupcakes.

And, as you can imagine, the response on Facebook has been overwhelmingly positive.

Kaylon Banks looks like we get them all  and you won’t lose your Silverstar.

Blanchard Mayor Jim Galambos tells KEEL News "this growth is great for Blanchard and gives residents more options for dining without having to travel out of the area." Galambos also says town leaders make sure it is easy to do business in Blanchard without having to jump through a bunch of hoops to open up shop.

With the development of I-49, north Shreveport has seen an explosion of growth bringing a lot of new business and industry to the area.  In addition to the new Silverstar/Monjuni's/Buttercups, the area has also seen a lot of national chains like Popeye's, Subway, Zaxby's and Sonic, but also local favorites like Shane's Seafood & BBQ, Counter Culture, and Trejo's now all feature north Shreveport locations.
