No Decision Yet on Possible Health Care Changes in Shreveport and Monroe
The future of health care in Shreveport and Monroe could be changing, but the LSU Board of Supervisors has delayed action until later this month on plan for the Biomedical Research Foundation to run the LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and the Conway Med Center in Monroe.
One member of the Board says more time is needed to fully evaluate the entire proposal.
Shreveport doctor John Georges is Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, but he did not take part in the discussions. He left the room because he is now the new interim president of the Biomedical Research Foundation and will be taking over on March 30. He has asked for an opinion from the Board of Ethics to determine if he can remain on the LSU board.
The issue is expected to come back up at the March 27 special meeting.
