Next Week’s Severe Weather Outbreak Could Include Shreveport
Right now, we're a little too far out...but forecasters are already looking really hard at the weather for Tuesday, March 4th, 2025. Because the pieces for a major storm outbreak are forming already.
Now, being so far away from the formation of these storms, forecasters don't really have the ability to specifically predict the exact threats, the timing, or specific cities that will be at risk. Right now, they have a large area that will be at risk, and the risk itself is a wide range of possibilities. We could see heavy downpours and strong winds, or we could see a full blown tornado outbreak.
The National Weather Service has issued a 15% risk for severe weather for next week, aiming at Tuesday. But this system could move a little faster, and the risk could come a day sooner, or it could be slower and Wednesday could be the day we see severe storms.
Online forecaster Ryan Hall, Y'all is on the same page as the National Weather Service. His reading of the forecast models explains a system that can draw a bunch of moisture/power from the gulf, that will run into a front. Which could happen right over the Ark-La-Tex.
These forecasts and models are still so far out from the possible storms, this could still fall apart. If forecasters were able to pinpoint the exact type of weather, in the exact spot, a week away, life would be amazing. We'd be able to avoid all severe weather, and never have rain on your plans.
But we can't do that yet. For now, we have to rely on these predictions and readings.
