Shreveport Teen Arrested for Hattie Perry Park Murder

Shreveport Police have arrested a teenager in connection with a fatal shooting that happened last night at Hattie Perry Park.

At around 7:00 p.m., SPD Officers responded to the park, on Ledbetter Street, after gunfire erupted during a large gathering.

A 21 year-old man was struck at least once by gunfire. The Shreveport Fire Department transported him to Ochsner LSU Health, where he later died from his injuries.

The suspect, 17 year-old Kenneth Harp, ran off after the shooting. SPD Officers immediately canvassed the surrounding neighborhood and located Harp hiding under a nearby home. He was taken into custody without further incident and transported for questioning.

Following the investigation, Harp was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of second-degree murder.
