Republican State Representative Mike Johnson has won a seat in the 4th Congressional District from Louisiana. He beat Democratic Attorney Marshall Jones in the runoff.

Johnson pledged to support families across this country. Johnson also wants to support and help Barksdale and Fort Polk grow. He says protecting these military installations will be one of his top priorities once he is sworn into office. Johnson adds: "We must support and expand these installations not only to properly defend our nation, but to protect our state’s economy.  In Washington, I will fight tirelessly to maintain all of the assignments currently located at our bases, and work at every opportunity to bring new ones here."

Johnson also says we must address our immigration problem. He says many U.S. immigration laws have been ignored by the White House and by those coming in from abroad. He says this has resulted in "a growing crisis." He adds: "our system is broken and it must be fixed".
