Shreveport Mayor Adrian Perkins talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the city's ongoing plans to work with state and federal officials in fighting the spread of COVID 19, the Coronavirus.

Perkins tells KEEL listeners that he has - and continues to be - in touch with Governor John Bel Edwards and other large city mayors across the state, adding that "the tone is collaborative."

"We are trying to get the best information, trying to be extremely responsive," the Mayor says. But he adds a somewhat somber note, "From a local standpoint, talking to some businesses, I'm hearing some heart wrenching stories regarding some of the things some are going through."

Saying, "I get the sense of emergency," Perkins adds that he continues to look for ways to assist those most affected by cutbacks and closings.
