The LSU Women's Basketball team brought home the Tiger's first ever basketball National Championship with a 102-85 win over Iowa.

Even though the game was loaded with calls that fans of both the Tigers and Hawkeyes questioned, the teams were able to set scoring records in the game. LSU's 102 points was the most ever scored by a team in the National Championship, Iowa's Caitlin Clark was able to set the mark for most points scored in an NCAA Women's Tournament, and LSU's Angel Reese set the mark for most double-doubles in a season.

LSU Head Coach Kim Mulkey was able to win her fourth National Championship as a Head Coach, and her first as the LSU Coach. Which was incredibly emotional for Mulkey, who is a Louisiana native. She won a National Championship as a player at Louisiana Tech, then one at Tech as an Assistant Coach. She then went on to win 3 at Baylor, and now one at LSU.
