Shreveport Police Seeking Woman Suspected of Passing Bad Checks
The Shreveport Police Department has obtained an arrest warrant for a woman in connection with the deposit of a counterfeit cashier’s check.
The investigation showed that Tambra Scroggins opened an account with a local financial institution and deposited a cashier’s check purportedly issued by a legitimate bank. Before the check cleared, funds were transferred and withdrawn from the account. The check was later returned as altered/fictitious.
The routing number associated with the check had previously been linked to counterfeit cashier’s checks. Further investigation found the account referenced on the check had been closed due to fraud, and the check template had been used in many fraudulent transactions.
Despite repeated attempts by the financial institution to contact Scroggins regarding the matter, she failed to respond.
Based on the evidence, an arrest warrant was issued charging Tambra Scroggins with Bank Fraud.

"Anyone with information regarding Scroggins’ whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Shreveport Police Department or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers."
