The Shreveport Police Department is requesting help from the community to track down a woman wanted for a violent altercation late last month.

Poolside Dispute Escalates to Gunfire on Walker Road

Investigators say that on May 31, 2026, a physical fight broke out among several people at an apartment complex swimming pool located in the 9000 block of Walker Road. During the chaos, McKenzie Watkins (Black female, date of birth December 15, 2006) allegedly struck a woman in the face with a handgun. As the fight continued, Watkins reportedly pointed the firearm at a second person and fired at least one round into the air.

Video Surveillance and Witnesses Corroborate Event

Detectives with the Shreveport Police Department secured and reviewed security footage from the apartment complex. According to investigators, the video explicitly captured Watkins pointing a handgun at one of the victims multiple times and intentionally firing the weapon. Follow-up interviews with victims and eyewitnesses at the scene backed up the evidence found on the surveillance footage.

Suspect Facing Multiple Felony Charges

Following the initial investigation, detectives obtained warrants for Watkins' arrest. She is officially being sought on the following charges:

  • Battery of a Dating Partner
  • Illegal Use of a Weapon
  • Two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm

Anyone who has information regarding where McKenzie Watkins might be hiding is strongly urged to contact the Shreveport Police Department immediately at (318) 673-7300.
