Taco Wars 2026 Results: Who Won Best Taco and Best Salsa in Shreveport?
Saturday was definitive proof that Shreveport shows up when delicious food is on the line. Taco Wars 2026 drew record-breaking crowds to the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium for a massive celebration of food and the rich Hispanic culture we all love.
Why has Taco Wars become such a cornerstone of our community? It’s the ultimate "one-stop shop" for foodies. Instead of driving all over the Ark-La-Tex, you have every incredible option readily available in one location.
The Ultimate Culinary Challenge
While the atmosphere is a party, nobody talks enough about the pressure these taquerias face. Competing for the titles of Best Taco and Best Salsa is a grueling logistical feat. Can you run a high-volume stand and keep thousands of hungry locals happy? Despite the massive turnout and long lines, the flow was incredible. I found myself hopping from one line to the next; usually, by the time I finished my current taco, I was already at the front of the next line.
And the Winners Are...
The competition is split into two prestigious categories: Best Salsa, which is decided by a popular community vote, and Best Taco, which is determined by a panel of expert judges brought in from all over.
Best Salsa: In a move that surprised absolutely no one, Ramirez Mexican Restaurant retained its title as the reigning champions. Their salsa is a local obsession for a reason. Huge congratulations to the team!
Best Taco: The real "Cinderella story" of the year belongs to La Reyna Del Sur. Owner Martha Anchondo started her journey selling food out of her car seven years ago, and on Saturday, she stood center stage as the big winner of the night. It was an emotional and well-deserved victory.
Celebrating Culture and Community
At its heart, this is exactly what Taco Wars is about. We get to celebrate our beautiful Hispanic culture while putting local taquerias front and center to give them the promotion and love they deserve.
Go out and support these local legends this week! But first, I have to know: What were your favorite bites of Taco Wars 2026?
