Shreveport Man Arrested for Allegedly Fracturing His Girlfriend’s Jaw

Shreveport Police have arrested a man following an investigation into a domestic violence incident that left a woman with a fractured jaw.

Over the weekend, Detectives were notified that an adult female victim was receiving medical treatment for serious injuries she says were sustained during a domestic violence incident on Stonewall Street.

Investigators learned the incident happened during the early morning hours of August 20. The victim reported that 23 year-old Jeremiah Gaston, her boyfriend, grabbed her face and struck her multiple times in the head and face. During the incident, Gaston allegedly punched the victim with enough force to fracture her jaw.

She was later transported to a hospital by a family member, where she received treatment.

A 12 year-old child was also inside the home during the incident.

Gaston was called to the Shreveport Police Department Investigations Office on Kings Highway for a formal interview. Detectives also interviewed witnesses and reviewed evidence and medical documentation related to the investigation.

Following those interviews and based on the evidence collected, Gaston was taken into custody.

Gaston was charged with one count of Domestic Abuse Battery with Serious Bodily Injury and one count of Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment.
