Drivers might want to avoid a stretch of I-20 in Shreveport during the morning hours this coming Sunday.

In order to safely facilitate this bridge inspection, DOTD is going to additionallly close the following ramps during this time:

  • Common Street on-ramp to I-20 westbound
  • LA 1 (Market St) southbound on-ramp to I-20 westbound
  • I-20 westbound off-ramp to Fairfield Ave.

These lane and ramp closures are scheduled to be in place from approximately 7:00 am to 12 pm (noon) for this one day.  Of course, since this work will be performed "Weather Permitting", inclement weather could delay, extend, or alter in other ways, the scheduled work day/hours.

DOTD reminds all drivers to use extreme caution in the work zones as bridge inspectors and equipment will be on site. This will be a total closure of the ramps specified above. All vehicles will need to utilize alternate routes.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
