There were some scary moments for guests this afternoon, when a Bossier City hotel caught fire.

We originally got a call saying a lightning strike caused the fire at the Holiday Inn Express & Suite in the 8000 block of E. Texas Street, but that hasn't been confirmed yet.

Bossier City spokesman Mark Natale told KEEL News the hotel was evacuated, but that some guests hadn't been accounted for. Fire officials are going door to door to see if anyone else is inside.

Firefighters contained the fire to the top of the northeast corner of the building. Natale said there are ladder trucks out there spraying water to extinguish the flames.

There are no reports of injuries. Natale said it will be a while before it can be determined whether the fire was, in fact, caused by lightning. He said it is a possibility, given the storms rolling through the area this afternoon.
