Gaming Control Boss Says Some Boats Looking To Move On Land Next Year [VIDEO]
Louisiana's Gaming Control Board Chairman Ronnie Jones talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the possibility of local casinos, in the wake of recent legislative changes to gaming regulations, expanding onto land.
Jones tells KEEL listeners that "we knew that the 1,200 foot admissibility of moving gaming operations onto land would be attractive to first generation properties.I'm aware of a variety of different licensees who are looking at the concept and I know of three that plan, likely next year in the first or second quarter, to file petitions with the board to do that."
Jones, however, avoided naming with, if any, area casinos have approached the state about moving operations onto land.
