Bossier Sheriff Larry Deen says Bossier Sheriff’s Department investigators are looking for a Shreveport man who is wanted for the theft of the assets of an aged or disabled person in Bossier Parish.

Bossier Sheriff’s detectives say Donnie Patrick Russell, 36, whose last known address was the 1000 block of Riding Club Lane in Shreveport, is being sought after he agreed to paint a 72 year old woman’s ceiling fan, her front porch and her front door for $150.  She paid the amount “up front” on or about February 16, 2011.

In addition, Russell contacted the woman in-person at her residence and told her his son was sick.  He said the electricity was going to be cut off because he could not pay his bill.  Russell asked if she could loan him $375 to pay the bill and she said she felt sorry for him, so she wrote him a check for $375.

Russell did not complete the lady’s home repairs and has not attempted to reimburse her for the funds.  She has spoken to Russell via cellular phone about the work and the money and he told her he has a gambling problem.

During the course of this investigation, Bossier Sheriff’s detectives have found other victims in Caddo Parish.  Bossier Sheriff’s investigators say it is best not to do business with Russell and they would like to have any information anyone might have as to his whereabouts.  If you can help, please call the Bossier Sheriff’s Department at 318-965-2203.
