From Shreveport Resident…to Rose Parade Grand Marshal

From Shreveport resident...to Iraq war veteran...to actor...to "Dancing with the Stars" favorite...to Grand Marshal! It's another big accomplishment for J.R. Martinez -- he's been named Grand Marshal of the 2012 Tournament of Roses festivities. Themed "Just Imagine...", the 2012 Rose Parade presented by Honda celebrates the power of imagination, inspiration and determination to encourage people to reacy higher and try harder. As Grand Marshal, Martinez will ride down Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena, California, in the 123rd Rose Parade -- and toss the coin before the 98th Rose Bowl Game on January 2nd. He was chosen based on his determination to go on to do great things after being severely burned in a land mine explosion in Iraq.

Oh, and in case you haven't been keeping up...J.R. WAS safe on last night's Dancing with the Stars results show. I look for him to AT LEAST make it to the finals...if not win that coveted mirror ball trophy!
