‘Dancing with the Stars’ Drama: Tamar Braxton Quits Due to Health Issues
After coming in late during Monday night's 'Dancing with the Stars' show, and still escaping elimination, Tamar Braxton is now pulling out of the contest.
Tamar's miraculous save, despite missing her first dance and muddling through the team dance with Nick Carter, outraged a lot of fans. I've been pretty tight-lipped about the show thus far this season, but I am one of many people who just can't let this one go.
Certainly, we all sympathize with Braxton's situation. Her schedule has been hectic, she just got over one illness, then came down with what she initially thought was pneumonia. E! Online reports that according to an Instagram post from Braxton, she's now been told she's suffering from something more serious, which includes blood clots on both her lungs.
Does anybody think she should perhaps have gone ahead and quit the show this week? She had to know she wasn't healthy enough yet to continue the show. We know her doctor advised against it. And who are these people who kept voting for her, knowing her condition was deteriorating?
The show is now ruined for a lot of people -- especially Alexa PenaVega, who had just earned two perfect scores, only to find out she would be the one leaving this week. Plus, now her competitor-hubby Carlos has to continue on without her. Local fans aren't happy about this.
This season has already seen one competitor pull out because of health issues. Reality TV star Kim Zolciak-Biermann withdrew during Week 3 because her doctor wouldn't allow her to fly from her home to Hollywood in time for the show.
What typically happens when a contestant withdraws is that the others are safe for that week, and nobody is eliminated. But I've never seen a situation like this before. Will the show bring Alexa back for another round? Everyone I've talked to says they don't think so. But we can hope. I'll be watching again Monday night. Will you?
