Fire Marshall Has Guidelines for Reopening Businesses

Businesses across Louisiana are gearing up to reopen this weekend since Governor John Bel Edwards announced he is lifting his stay at home order.

Many of these businesses will be back up and going on Friday. But there are limitations.

The capacity of guests and workers in the businesses will now be at 25%.

Fire Marshall Browning outlines how businesses can determine that 25% capacity based on total square footage of your establishment. He details that during this interview:

These businesses will remain closed: Public Amusement (indoor and outdoor), rides, carnivals, amusement parks, water parks, trampoline parks, aquariums, museums, arcades, fairs, pool halls, play centers, playgrounds, theme parks, theaters, concert and music halls, adult entertainment, movie theaters, bowling alleys, bars,
spas, massage parlors, tattoo parlors, fitness centers, gyms, and other similar
businesses.

Under Phase 1 the Governor says everyone should wear face masks in public except children under 2 and individuals with severe breathing issues. Maintain physical distance of at least 6 ft from non household contacts

Louisiana will move to Phase 2 in 21 days.

The Governor's order says the phasing period "ends once a vaccine is discovered and widely available."

Casinos are being allowed to reopen on Monday, but each casino has to file a detailed plan with Louisiana State Police before they will get the green light to open the doors to patrons. Gaming Control Board Chairman Ronnie Jones tells KEEL News several casinos are moving full steam ahead to open back up for business early on Monday. But they will have several precautions in place to ensure the safety of guests and employees.
