Dr. Martha Whyte, Regional Medical Director for the Louisiana Department of Public Health, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the most recent update concerning COVID 19, commonly known as the Coronavirus.

Whyte reiterates (from the conversation on KEEL last week) that "the vast majority" of those who contract the virus will have "symptoms no worse than a severe cold" and that taking a few simple precautions will greatly reduce one's chance of becoming ill.

The Doctor also updates the situation in Louisiana, telling KEEL listeners that one case has been confirmed in the state. Whyte says the patient is a Jefferson Parish man who, according to reports, is hospitalized at the Orleans Parish VA Hospital.
