Early voting in Bossier Parish was pretty slow...so, how will the turnout for this Saturday be? Bossier Registrar of Voters Janet Burkes says she doesn't even want to venture a guess, but she's hoping folks who have been on spring break this week will be back in time to head out and vote. On the ballot parish-wide is a millage renewal proposition. The 10-year, 3-mill property tax renewal is to maintain and operate parish corrections facilities. Haughton will be electing a town alderman between two candidates, and Bossier City will elect a city marshall. There are three candidates on the ballot for that.

On the other side of the river, a $175-million bond package is up for voter approval in Shreveport. And a new District 2 Caddo Commissioner will be elected. That seat was left vacant when former commissioner Rose McCullough was elected to the Shreveport City Council.
