Dancing and Idol…Who’s YOUR Pick?

I've been pretty quiet this season (online, at least) about who my favorites are on Dancing with the Stars and American Idol. But...since finals for both are THIS WEEK, I thought it was time.

Last night's Dancing finalists were all top-notch!  Several perfect scores...and, though Donald Driver and his pro partner Peta did an INCREDIBLE country freestyle (and got their first perfect score of the season), all my votes went to Katherine Jenkins! Not only does she have a beautiful voice, but she's become a beautiful dancer, despite the injuries she's suffered during this competition. 

As for American Idol...my pick to win is Phillip Phillips, not because I think his voice is necessarily the best, but because of how much I've enjoyed his song selections, his musical style, and his originality.  He's a TRUE performer -- not flashy, but very laid-back and cool!  Very similar to the way I perform in my own band. Not sure he can beat Jessica, but I know he has a promising future ahead -- as does our own Louisiana guy Joshua Ledet.  They've all come a long way. 

I've enjoyed the journey with all the contestants of both shows.  Tonight, then tomorrow night, that all comes to an end.  And I'm back to watching kids' shows every night. Haha! Can't wait to for next season's picks and a whole new round of shows to enjoy!
