Councilman Nickelson Quizzes GDC on Cross Bayou Plan [VIDEO]
Shreveport City Councilman John Nickelson talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about his recent correspondence with the public relations firm representing Gateway Development Consortium (Gateway Louisiana, LLC). GDC is the firm promoting the development of downtown Shreveport's Cross Bayou area.
Nickelson tells KEEL listeners that his questions regarding the $1,5 billion proposal specifically addressed the environmental study and cleanup of the "brownfield" and who would be legally liable should issues ever arise.
The Councilman also talks about a commitment - or lack of - from state officials regarding the GDC proposed state office building at Cross Bayou. State workers currently occupy the building at the corner of Fairfield and Jordan in Shreveport. Meanwhile the state has budgeted a million dollars for renovation and upgrades of their current site.
