Caddo Parish Commissioner Steven Jackson talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the latest developments in the controversy surrounding the Confederate Monument at the Caddo Parish Courthouse.

In the latest turn, a court in North Carolina ruled that the monument removed from the Chatham County Courthouse grounds, which the United Daughters of the Confederacy had tried to block, does not have to be returned to the public site.

Courts have ruled that the Caddo monument sits on land owned by the parish. The UDC argued that the tract on courthouse grounds was legally theirs.

The Caddo Commission had previously given the UDC ninety days to move the monument to another location, a deadline which expired on November 29.
