Caddo Parish Commissioner Steven Jackson talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the possibility of that body meeting with representatives of the Gateway Development Consortium to discuss the 10-year, billion dollar Cross Bayou development proposal.

Here is the resolution that Jackson will introduce at Monday's (March 18) work session:

"RESOLUTION NO.17 OF 2019 BY THE CADDO PARISH COMMISSION: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARISH ADMINISTRATOR AND PARISH COMMISSION TO ENTER INTO NON-BINDING DISCUSSIONS REGARDING CROSS BAYOU, AND OTHERWISE PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO WHEREAS, developers have approached Caddo Parish Commission Members about developing an area on Cross Bayou; WHEREAS, these developers would like the Parish Commission to consider Caddo Parish providing support; WHEREAS, the Caddo Parish Commission wishes to engage in non-binding discussions with developers on this project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Caddo Parish Commission in due, regular and legal session convened, authorizes the Parish Administrator and Commission to enter into non-binding discussion about the development. These discussions shall not be construed as the Parish of Caddo committing any endorsement or funding of the project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if any provision or item of this resolution or the application thereof is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions, items or applications which can be given effect without the invalid provisions, items or applications, and to this end, the provisions of this resolution are hereby declared severable. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall take effect immediately. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all resolutions or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed​."
