Local church leaders are urging residents to show up for a unity rally on Sunday.

In the news release the local ministers say

On the day that is considered to be the most segregated day of the week, faith leaders and their communities will join together this Sunday, June 7, 2020, to make a unified stand against racism.

The group will march from the Old Galilee Baptist Church on Williamson Street to the Little Union Baptist Church. The March begins at 1:30pm and there will be a prayer rally at 2pm.

Galilee Baptist Church is where the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King spoke about racial injustices and segregation when he stopped in Shreveport in the 1960's.
