At this time, the child remains in critical condition, and investigators advise that additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues. Detectives with the Shreveport Police Department’s Juvenile Crimes Unit continue to work diligently on this case and respectfully ask the community to keep this child in their prayers.

Investigation Launched Following Emergency Hospitalization

The case first came to light when the young victim was admitted to a local hospital in a state of medical crisis. Due to the suspicious and "heinous" nature of his injuries, hospital staff immediately notified the Shreveport Police.

Juvenile Investigators were dispatched to the medical facility, where they began the task of documenting the child’s condition and tracing his recent history back to an apartment complex in the 4500 block of North Market Street.

Medical Reports Reveal Extensive Physical Trauma

Clinical examinations have revealed a heartbreaking level of suffering endured by the child. According to police reports, medical staff documented trauma covering approximately 60% of the boy's body, including a broken nose, a broken wrist, and multiple lacerations.

Beyond the physical strikes, the child was found to be severely malnourished and showed signs of profound neglect. The child currently remains under intensive care, with authorities describing him as "clinging to life" as he faces a difficult road to recovery.

Shreveport Authorities Vow Accountability as More Arrests Loom

SPD detectives are actively pursuing additional leads, and more arrests are anticipated in the coming days. The department has issued a stern commitment to the public, stating that every individual who played a role in the child's suffering will be held legally accountable to the fullest extent of the law.

The Shreveport Police Department is asking the public for any information that may assist in this ongoing investigation.
