Caddo School Employees Will Get Spring Break Bonus Checks

SHREVEPORT, LA - Good news for employees of the Caddo Parish School system. It's not a pay raise, but employees will be heading out for spring break with a little extra cash.

The Caddo Parish Board has approved one time pay supplements for employees. The money will come from federal dollars. Each employee who is eligible will be getting a bonus check of $1,200.

When Will Caddo School Employees Get Extra Money?

This supplement is going out to the workers on Friday afternoon March 8 just as they leave for spring break.  Caddo Parish Superintendent Dr. Lamar Goree says:

We believe that the continued hard work and dedication of our employees deserve recognition and support. Thank you to our Board Members for their willingness to recognize the work of our teachers and support staff. Together, we are building a brighter future for our students and our community.

How Did Caddo Get There Federal Dollars?

Caddo schools got this money from an additional allocation from the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund, which is above the amount which was included in this years' budget.

These funds have to be used before September 30 and they must follow federally approved spending guidelines.

Who Is Eligible for the Pay Stipend?

Employees who were on the payroll and eligible for benefits on February 15, 2024 and remain employed through March 8, 2024 will be getting this extra money.
