The only category that had a slight increase was Aggravated Assault, that had a 10 percent bump.  KEEL News reached out to Bossier City Mayor Tommy Chandler who told us:

Crime in Bossier City is very important to me. It is not only important to me, but it is important to our citizens also. Our Police Department is doing a good job in addressing crime in our city. Because every citizen is affected, either directly or indirectly, by crime. I believe it takes everyone doing their part to report crime so that this trend of a decrease in crime can continue.

Bossier City spokesman Louis Johnson released the following statement regarding the drop in Bossier City’s crime numbers.

The Bossier City Police Department released it’s comparative crime stats for the year 2024. Mayor Chandler and Police Chief Daniel Haugen were pleased to report that in every recorded category except one the numbers were down. Chief Haugen said that the decrease in crime is an indication of an increase in good Policing and community involvement. Mayor Chandler said that Public Safety is his #1 priority and he is pleased to see that there was a marked decrease in Crime in Bossier City. Chief Haugen said that though he is pleased with the decrease in crime, his Dept. will continue to work everyday to keep crime as low as possible while working toward the goal to make Bossier City one of the Safest Cities in the State.
