Festival organizers posted this message:

We are extremely saddened by this first ever cancellation of the ArtBreak Festival.  However, we wholeheartedly support all safety measures associated with protecting our community from the CoronaVirus. This is the first ArtBreak in 36 years to be cancelled, and we are terribly saddened by it.

On behalf of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council and all of the team members who have been working to produce the grandest ArtBreak Festival ever, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude for all of your efforts to participate in ArtBreak.  We appreciate the encouragement you communicate to our region’s young artists at this annual student art showcase.

The Shreveport Regional Arts Council looks forward to a “new day” for ArtBreak in 2021 and thanks you for your continued support, patience, and understanding as we find the best path forward.

The event was set to be held April 20-26th but it won't happen this year and it's sad for all the youngsters who will miss attending this one-of-a-kind event.

I know I will miss it.
