Another Man Murdered in Shreveport
A local man is murdered in Shreveport. Police were called to the 2100 block of Talbot Street relative to a man who had been shot several times.
Officers on the scene found the man lying on the front lawn of a residence, suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. The victim's name has not been released.
SPD issued this statement shortly after the shooting:
While processing the crime scene, patrolmen detained an adult male, who detectives have reason to believe may be directly involved in the shooting. The man in discussion, was taken to Shreveport Police headquarters for interviews with investigators. Interviews with the man remain underway at this hour, while charges in the matter are pending. While present at the scene, authorities located a hand gun, along with numerous shell casings and narcotics in close proximity to where the shooting is believed to have occurred. At current, it is not known if the victim and the man detained at the scene knew each other prior to the tragic ordeal.
