Another Downtown Restaurant Closes- Leaves Premier Space Available
A new restaurant or retail space has just become available in the heart of downtown on Texas Street. The space was previously occupied by Shababy's Cajun Cooking, which had to close due to medical issues forcing the owners to have to slow down a bit. The location prior to that was home to 4J's Java and more.
The premier space features two levels that includes a serving counter on the first floor with a fully furnished kitchen and additional seating on the second floor. Both floors feature bathrooms, and there's a dumbwaiter to send food between the two levels.
The turnkey space is about 3200 flexible square feet. In addition to a restaurant, it could be used for a variety of purposes including retail to bar to a combination of the two. Zoning classification prohibits a nightclub in this particular location.
The building is located on Texas Street near the Caddo Parish Courthouse in the same block as the Robinson Film Center, the Lofts at 624, and Southern University's Metro Campus. It's also near ArtSpace, Rhino Coffee, and not far from the Emmett Hook Center.
Although the building doesn't feature specific parking, customers have ample on-street parking as well as nearby lot parking. The Downtown Development Authority is also available to help in finding off-street parking options for future business employees, as well as any request for outdoor patio seating spaces.
