An American in Spain: How the Euros are Handing the ‘Corona-Crisis’ [VIDEO]

Former Shreveport resident Mark Landis, now living overseas in Madrid, Spain, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the rules in place to battle the Coronavirus spread and how the differ from those in the US.

Landis, a former program director at KTUX radio, tells KEEL listeners the United States is 'behind the curve' in implementing rules to battle the virus, but that's because the illness hit America a few weeks later. Both Spain and the USA, he says, lagged behind in the ability to test for the virus.

Landis also describes rules and regulations currently in place in Spain. which are much stricter than those in the US. All businesses,except grocery stores and pharmacies, are facing mandatory closings. The general public is not allowed on the streets unless they are going to one of those places or walking their pets.

There have been more than 4,000 confirmed Coronavirus cases in Spain, resulting in more than 300 deaths.
