Shreveport Mayor Adrian Perkins held a briefing on the steps of the Caddo Courthouse to o which will let him run for re-election this fall. He also posted a brief message on his social media page expresses his sentiments.

Perkins made some brief remarks outside the Caddo Courthouse and told reporters he's ready to get back to work.

Perkins first gave thanks to God. "I want to start off by thanking God and without his protection, I would not be in the position that I am in." The Mayor also sent a message of thanks to the 4 Justices of the State Supreme Court who decided this case in his favor. He thanked them for letting the citizens decide who runs the city for the next four years.

Perkins also sent this message out:

I want to thank all of the citizens of Shreveport and all the prayer warriors who have been out there praying for me. We are going to continue to do the work for Shreveport. I am ecstatic, grateful and we are going to continue to do the work. God bless you all.

The State Supreme Court handed down the ruling this morning declaring Perkins is eligible to run for re-election this fall. It was a 4.3 vote of the Justices.
