Northwestern State suffered a tough loss last weekend to Southeastern. Tough because they came up just short with a chance to score at the end of the game, tough because they lost one of the country's most dynamic play-makers to injury. I caught up with "Coach Peve" at the NSU Quarterback Luncheon on Thursday.

Head Coach Bradley Dale Peveto of the Northwestern State Demons has his team at 1-1 in the Southland Conference and 3-3 overall. I caught up with the coach at the NSU Quarterback luncheon and got to ask him about last Saturday's win against Lamar and this Saturday's game against Southeastern.

The new rankings will look very different this week as three Top Five teams all went down to a defeat, part of a larger shakedown in college football that saw nine ranked teams all suffer losses. Here are all the highlights from this week in the Top 25.

While last week gave us a number of exciting games (West Virginia/Baylor shootout, Texas’ controversial last-minute touchdown to beat Oklahoma State, Nebraska’s comeback win over Wisconsin, etc.), it was lacking in marquee games between ranked teams or conference rivals. But this week will make up for it in a big way with five games between ranked teams, including not one but two Top Ten matchups

For a week that was supposed to be lacking in big games or traditional rivalries, this week sure gave us a lot of excitement. West Virginia and Baylor showed us an offensive shootout for the ages. Stanford became the latest Top Ten team to bite the dust. And Texas and Nebraska both needed fourth quarter comebacks to keep their conference title hopes alive. The LSU Tigers beat the Towson Tigers 38-22 at Tiger Stadium on Saturday night. The score was a lot closer than some expected, and LSU seemed to have a hard time getting into the game.

We all like to play a little football in the back yard on weekends, maybe throw a few passes to the kids for fun.

Towson will visit Death Valley and play the LSU Tigers this Saturday,  Sept. 29, 2012.  Hear the massacre (an incident where some group is killed by another) on 1130 The Tiger. Yep, they want to take on Louisiana State University, three-time national champion and perennial SEC powerhouse... LMBO. We're grinning too Les!

With their 12-10 victory over Auburn, LSU moves to 4-0 and grabs their first conference victory for 2012. Now we're starting to see what we can expect from the Tigers' quarterback No.8 Zach Mettenberger.

There are some football games that just go down in history and stick in our minds for ever. It might be an awesome play never seen before or something that happened in the last moments of the game.
