The Shreveport Metropolitan Planning Commission is hosting a public reception tomorrow (Tues) evening for the four finalists in the search for a new executive director.

It runs from six until eight at the downtown Hilton Hotel.  The field started with 47 applicants.  Then, it was whittled down to 19, 10, and 5.  But one of those five accepted another position prior to being scheduled for final interviews.

The finalists are:  Robert Hunter of Plant City, FL; Robert Massarelli of Titusville, FL; Christian Schock of Wilmington, OH; and Mark Sweeney of Austin, TX.

Starting at eight Wednesday morning, the MPC board will be interviewing each candidate during public meetings at Government Plaza.  After the interviews, the board expects to rank the candidates Wednesday afternoon and then begin immediate negotiations with the top candidate.

The MPC has been without a full-time executive Director since Charles Kirkland retired January 15th.
