A dispatcher with the Shreveport Fire Department has been sentenced to just over two years in prison for possessing child pornography. He's also sentenced to five years of supervised release.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, 46-year-old Stephen St. John was a member of a secret file posting board that distributed child porn. His home was searched on September 5, 2013, and several computers, external hard drives, memory cards, DVDs and diskettes were seized. On them were pubescent and prepubescent males engaged in explicit sexual activity.

The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a U.S. Justice Department initiative "to combate the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. The goal is to locate, catch and prosecute people who exploit children via the internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims."
