A dispatcher with the Shreveport Fire Department has entered a guilty plea to possessing child pornography.

U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley says when 46-year-old Stephen St. John's home was searched on September 5, 2013, several computers, external hard drives, memory cards, DVDs and diskettes were seized. They were found to contain hundreds of images of pubescent and prepubescent boys engages in explicit sexual activity.

St. John faces up to 10 years in prison, five years to life of supervised release and a $250,000 fine. He'll be sentenced January 30, 2015.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a U.S. Justice Department nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
