Woodlawn Coach Arrested For Battery

A coach at Woodlawn Leadership Academy has been arrested for battery. The Caddo Sheriff's Office says 35-year-old DeCarlos Holmes was issued a misdemeanor summons for simple battery -- for allegedly slapping a student across the face.

Investigators say the incident took place in the school gym on November 1st. The 16-year-old student told deputies that he and another boy were paddled by the coach after he found them in the hallway. After the paddling, he says the coach asked him if he had a problem. When the boy refused to answer, he says the coach struck him across the face, which was witnessed by other adults.
