Women will be coming together this month to honor ladies in our community who always step up to help other women.

The YWCA of Northwest Louisiana is hosting its Women Who Care, Share Luncheon on Thursday, August 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 1pm. It's being held at Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino.

This years event will feature a panel discussion from several local women who have worked tirelessly to help women face the challenges that are unique to ladies who struggle to face today's demands. The YWCA promotes a vital mission in our community to "eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all."

What Is the Theme of the Event?

This year's theme, "100 Years of Empowering Women", highlights challenges faced by women in employment, the value of being a part of organizations, and the future of young women. You are encouraged to attend this special event and bring a friend to help raise funds for the YWCA.

Who Are the Panelists at the Luncheon?

This powerful afternoon will feature Vivian Andrews, President of La Ve' Consulting, Erica Bryant, Caddo Parish Administrator, Linda Biernacki, President of Fire Tech Systems, Rachel Scott, YWCA VISTA Supervisor. The will be offering stories that will inspire women to live better lives.

The event also includes a raffle and lunch provided by Sam's Town.

The annual fundraiser brings together community leaders, philanthropists and advocates to celebrate 100 years of YWCA programs. Our goal is to raise critical funds that empower teen girls, provide trauma counseling, advocacy for senior women, parenting for teen and single mothers, and racial justice programs.
