The doctors of the Willis Knighton Health System's Medical Executive Committee have issued a "No Confidence" statement directed at Willis Knighton CEO James Elrod.

The USA Today Network reports they have a copy of the letter which reads "Our preference would be that Mr. Elrod voluntarily step down from his position and retire with the dignity and respect due him for his great service to both WK and the Shreveport-Bossier community. Should he prove incapable of graciously stepping aside, you, as the board, must initiate a transition to new leadership".

The letter cited multiple reasons for the "No Confidence" move, including the doctors' assessment that Elrod had difficulties with disagreements, and was unable to respond to the changes in the healthcare market. These items were outlined with references to recent reactions to new information systems, difficulties responding to changes in the Medicaid system, and a lack of desire to manage the care of patients. KTBS reports the Willis Knighton Board of Trustees are aware of the letter and are "evaluating the situation" according to John Kyte, a communications consultant for Willis Knighton.
