Today is the day we stop and remember those who have died in service to our country. Most folks think of Memorial Day as the start of summer and the time to begin having BBQ's and gatherings. We can't do some of the things we usually do on this holiday.

So maybe you can start a new tradition and bring flowers to a veterans cemetery or learn about some of the heroes who paid the ultimate price. Today is a day to reflect and think about thousands of men and women who took a pledge to defend our country and died doing just that.

All of us should be forever grateful to those brave men and women. I will say a pray today for those who have died. They did so to make sure my rights as an American citizen are protected.

Reagan reminds us all:

We have prospered as no other people on other. It is because we have unleashed the individual genius of man to a greater extent than has ever been done before. The price for this freedom has been high. But we have never been unwilling to pay that price.

Our 40th President was one of the best to ever honor the men and women who bravely defended our nation. He often called them heroes:

Those that say we're in a time where there are no heroes; they just don't know where to look. The slopping hills of Arlington National Cemetary with its row upon row of simple white markers bearing Crosses or Stars of David. They add up to only a tiny fraction of the price that has been paid for our freedom.
