Was Caddo Bus Drivers ‘Sick Out’ Part of an Organized Plan? [VIDEO]
Jackie Lansdale, President of Red River United Teachers Union, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the recent "sick out" by Caddo Parish bus drivers. A number of drivers failed to show up for their afternoon routes last Thursday and Friday. Red River United also represents those Caddo drivers.
Lansdale tells KEEL listeners that the condition of Caddo buses "has been an ongoing problem. This has been ongoing and it's symptomatic."
Lansdale also refers to last week's driver absences as "an organic uprising," and that the purpose was "to send a message."
The union president adds that a ten-point-plan will be presented to Superintendent Dr. Lamar Goree and the Caddo Education Board. "We all need to be reminded," Lansdale says, "That children need to be safely transported...and everything that goes into that needs to be addressed."
